Below are some of the websites and development projects I’ve had the opportunity to work on. For more information about any of them or to talk about your project, contact me.
The DAVE Project
I’ve been leading development of the DAVE Project as the Technical Editor since its inception in July 2003. The project includes over 700 videos in a variety of user-selectable formats, including video podcasts. The project is led by professors at Harvard Medical School, based at MGH, and has drawn contributions from over 50 leading medical institutions around the world.
The PIH Model Online
The DAVE Project spawned a project in partnership with PIH for delivering healthcare information in resource-poor settings. The project involved building a custom CMS that can be easily maintained by non-technical staff, converting existing literature into XML for display, and support for displaying the site in multiple languages. This site is currently not publicly available, but may become public at some point in the future.
JournalFeeds.com
JournalFeeds aggregates XML/RSS feeds from peer-reviewed journals, creating a one-stop resource of up-to-date information for the busy professional. I built JournalFeeds as a proof-of-concept, the idea and some of the functionality is being absorbed by other sites I’m working on.
Quota Server by Northern
This was my first credit for a commercial product, the result of innumerable hours and a lifetime supply of BSODs getting this complete rewrite of existing software into packages and out the door.
For Sale By Owner site
I’m trying to sell my house so I built this site. My design goal was providing an intuitive means to browse a photo gallery of the house, while providing key details too.
CCCC Registrar’s site
As part of acting as the technical lead for the conversion to a MS-SQL based student information system, I built a system for real-time listing of courses and student schedules at Cape Cod Community College. It was a great leap forward for the college and its students, who could now look-up open courses that fit their schedule via advanced search capability, keep updated about cancelled courses, and be notified of location changes. A considerable amount of functionality was developed for academic advisors, including a Section-508 compliant student transcript and ETL routines. The site now appears to be in disrepair, the screenshot below showing partial functionality.
